Stone Soup 4

A delicious mix of chunky gemstone beads and jade-green potato pearls give this necklace a bold look.

These coordinating earrings dangle about 1 1/2 inches from the findings.

Bridal Spiral 4

Large silver-lined glass seed beads and 8mm bicone crystals are woven in a spiral helix pattern. This is a larger and much more dramatic version of my more delicate spirals. The crystals have an AB finish that really sparkles like a glowing bride.

Peacock Pearls 4

Cultured pearls and glass pearls in the blue green shades of a peackock are paired with silver bead caps and stardust accents. Can be worn as a long lariat or doubled for a shorter style. A beautiful toggle clasp that can be worn in front as a design element or in back for a sleeker,...

Disney and Swarovski To Launch Alice In Wonderland-Inspired Jewellery Collection Eye of Dubai (press release)

In celebration of the highly anticipated Walt Disney Pictures film Alice In Wonderland, Disney Consumer Products and Swarovski, the world’s largest producer of cut crystal, are launching an all new collection of jewellery pieces. Consumers will be taken inside the world of “Underland” to commune with the unexpectedly mad and caring characters in the latest film by Tim Burton. Capturing the spirit of each character in the film, the line features a host of vintage and gothic details inspired by the outlandish personalities found down the rabbit hole, and demonstrate the attention to detail in products that are the result of the long collaboration between Disney and Swarovski. “The Red Queen”, (Helena Bonham Carter), is characterised by the powerfully timeless symbol of the red heart, and is the inspiration for a series of pieces in the collection. Enchantingly sophisticated, the Red Queen-themed pendant and ring feature a heart inside a heart cut-out, and are both made of miniature red crystals, applied using Swarovski’s exclusive Pointiage™ technique. The playing card surroundings of the Red Queen throughout the film serve as inspiration for a pendant, earrings and a ring. Produced in epoxy set with miniature black or red crystals, each of the symbols hangs delicately, and they are all held in place by fine ruthenium chains. The ring has a dual role to play, as the red heart and jet-black spade can be worn either together or independently. Taking inspiration from the “Mad Hatter”

is hematite a rock?

i really like hematite especially for the balls in my earrings and i recently bought two hematite rings and i rememeber having one before and it broke. so mainly my question is what exactly is it considered is it a rock or what and is it actually breakable?
i was on wikipedia it kinda just confused me i wanted a simple human answer and i wasnt sure if the ring i had was actually hematite i guess what i meant was should it break easily like should i be worried every time i bang it on something that it might break or should it hold up

**EDIT: Yes, you should worry about breaking it on things...hematite rings are VERY fragile. Sorry for the confusion. :)

Actually, hematite is a mineral, not a rock. It crystallizes in a rhombohedral shape

It is important to differentiate between minerals and rocks...rocks are made of minerals...minerals are just minerals. Even if you found a huge chunk of quartz crystal (for example), it's not technically a rock - it's just a large piece of a mineral.

Of course it is breakable, anything is breakable; you oughtta know this if you broke a hematite ring! At any rate, I really like hematite, too. Hematite is iron ore, one of the mineral sources for iron metal that we use in steel, etc. I would consider it to be a rock; even though it often has a metallic appearance, it is actually an oxide of iron. Check it out on Wikipedia.

What jewelry are you wearing right now?

And are the pieces special to you?

I'm wearing my Shield of St. Brighid necklace (it protects poets and entertainers) so I wear it for luck.
And also my Hematite necklace that I got in the Dominican Republic. I think the necklaces go together anyway.

Also I have 2 small gold hoop earrings in my left ear.

I have my wedding ring on. Yes, it is special to me.

Ear piercing?

I've had my temp earrings for over 10 weeks now. My mom dosn't have the time to help me get them out. The ring is like super glued or cemented together or something. But anyway, is it bad to have them in longer than 8 weeks.? They are fine for like a week and then right when I suggest taking them out, about a day or two later it always gets all pussy. And it is always my left earring. ( On the lobe ) is this bad? Shouldn't it have healed by now? After I got it I used to put polysporing on my earrings every morning and every night but then as my ears ztarted healing I did it less. Is there something wrong with me? Also, I can't get my temps off. Apparently, you just pull it out. It is just a ring with a little hematite ball glued over where the earring opens up. But it won't move. I can turn it around, but I can't pull the earring out. HELP! Plz.....

It is not fully healed. This has also happend to me on my second ear lobe piercing on my left ear! I had it in for 6-8weeks. I finally pulled it apart put in a new earring that was sterling silver next thing you know it gets irritated starts to bleed a little & have pus. I had to let it close and get it repierced again. Just keep the temp earring in, clean it daily with the solution and twist it. It will heal just give it time. If you aren't able to remove the earring get a piercer to remove it or the place you originally got it pierced at. Your probably removing it a little to rough causing some irritation to the ear.
