Dramatic earrings rock at the Grammys National Jeweler Network
The evening's first performance seemed to sum up the sartorial mood, with Lady Gaga and Elton John taking the stage, their eyes shrouded by sequined glasses as they played the piano. Though every inch of Gaga's leotard-and-platforms getup was sparkling with sequins, Elton John sported the first major jewelry sighting of the night: Though apparently a pendant, the singer opted to wear Liv Ballard's "Capvt Mundi" design as one massive, shoulder-grazing earring, with diamond-studded concentric circles orbiting a smooth stone. In earrings, presenter Sheryl Crow donned Ofira yellow gold and diamond disk-shaped drops swinging to her shoulders, while Grammy winner Beyonce could be seen from afar in oversized diamond-studded hoops. Beyonce did a quick change after her "If I Were A Boy"/"You Oughta Know" performance. But earlier in the evening, as she walked the red carpet, she wore oversized hoops as well--yellow gold and pave diamond versions from Lorraine Schwartz, featuring triangle-shaped pendants the length of her neck. Taylor Swift, meanwhile, who arrived at the festivities with eight nominations and whose wins included Album of the Year, accessorized her shimmering gown and upswept do with custom-made diamond earrings from Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira. Pink, too, selected eye-catching diamond earrings for Grammys night. And while quite a few of the stars chose gowns sequined from head to toe, the singer accessorized her dramatic Tony Ward Haute Couture gown with $2.5 million in sparkling jewels from Neil Lane, including long diamond and platinum
