SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Police say a Denver man who allegedly stole nearly $300,000 worth of diamond rings right off the fingers of a jewelry shop owner has been arrested.

Lt. Tom Wiggins says 30-year-old David Herrera Jr. was arrested in Denver Friday after police got a tip he was the one who robbed Santa Fe's Jewel Mark in January.

Store owner Rita Linder said at the time that the man seemed to be shopping for rings but at one point he grabbed the rings off her fingers, ran out of the store and fled in a car.

So far, police have not recovered the rings. And they are still looking for the getaway driver.

Does anyone know where to find good diamond rings for 100.00 and under? I am going to try to find one for my mom for christmas. please help

You need to know exactly what you are looking for.The size , the cut and clarity of diamond you want. Go to mall jewelry stores and look at diamonds in the $300 range. Look at multiple diamonds using using the jewelers loop. When you are familiar with the stones you are looking at go to a pawn shop and look for a diamond you like. The pawn shop will also have a loop for you to use. When you find a diamond you like offer $100 cash.

Diamond Rings?

My girls birthday is coming up and we've been together for about 5 months, and I want to buy her a diamond ring but I only want to spend no more than $350 on it. Is there anywhere I can go to get a quality goodlooking ring for that price? Thanks.

Is it cheaper to buy the diamond separate and then purchase a ring base or to buy a whole diamond ring already made to spec. Any suggestions on where to look for good deals?

I would check out Zales and Kay jewelers. I got my cerified diamond 1 carat with warranty for $2500. It was a great deal because of the cut, color and clarity.

Make sure you get a good look at that certificate. Do you diamond homework.

To answer your question, buy it in one piece.
