i have just brought my fiancee a titanium ring, and i was wondering as he works in a bar, whether the alcohol contact would damage it in any way? basically will he be ok to wear it to work

yes he should be able to work with it on saying alcohal doesnt contain a high acid content [lucky guy]

There was a drawer full of platinum rings, and they poured alcohol into it, and the two TITANIUM rings in it floated up.

Which is more dense - platinum, or titanium?

And could someone please explain the science behind this?

This shouldn't work with alcohol, because both titanium and platinum are denser than alcohol. They would both juts sink to the bottom.

Theoretically the trick would work if you have a liquid that is denser than titanium, but not as dense as platinum.

Titanium is relatively "light" for a metal, but you would still need a very dense liquid, as solids, particularly metals, are generally much denser than liquids.

What are the advantages of Titanium rings over Sterling Silver rings?

I am thinking about purchasing a ring and having a personal memento engraved on the interior of the band. The Titanium rings I'm looking at are a little more expensive (40-70 bucks) and the Sterling Silver are cheaper (20-50 bucks) but I am not sure about the features of each and I can't find a good website that does. Any insight is appreciated!

If you're run over, the titanium will not bend as easily as silver. It won't stain or rust either. It's not the loveliest metal, I bet they use an alloy to spice it up.
