Can I engrave something on the inside of a white gold diamond ring?

I want to get my girlfriend a promise ring for her birthday. I have maybe 4 or 5 rings in mind but I need to know something first: can I engrave a white gold diamond ring? And also, can it be engraved in the inside of the ring?

You can get white gold engraved, and you can engrave inside the ring. However, because white gold is only plated to look white, you might end up with two different colors in and out of the engraving as the ring wears over time (it will start to take on a yellowish tint and need to be re-plated). You might want to consider going with platinum instead if it's available in the styles you like and you can afford it. Platinum is much more durable than white gold and is naturally white, so the engraving won't wear or become a different color than the rest of the ring as it might with white gold.

my older brother got a ring for his girlfriend and it was engraved inside "ed heart jenny" the heart was an actual heart not the word but im not sure about the diamond.

My engagement ring is white gold and I would like to get it recoated before my wedding. The thing I am worried about is that i have heard the rings never look as good as they did before and the diamonds become lose afterwards. Is this true?

This is not true at all. Your rings will be re plated and they will look brand new again. The plating usually is a combination of platinum and rhodium.
